Plan Ahead For Free Admission

Are you a medical professional?  If so, you can get free admission to the upcoming Birmingham Home and Garden Show on Thursday, February 12.  Just show your medical or hospital ID at the registration desk in the lobby of the show.  While there take advantage of the food sampling from Western Market on the second floor of the BJCC.  If you’re not a medical professional you can still save $3 off the $11 admission by buying your ticket online on their website.

Get ready for your Alabama roadtrip.  The AAA Alabama Travel Show is on Saturday, January 31 at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center in Birmingham from 9am-2pm.  Admission is free.

Birmingham has a rich history of cultivating music, and there have been numerous famous musicians that are either from here or got their start here.  Include in this list are Lionel Hampton, Eddie Kendricks, Sun Ra, Sara Evans, Rueben Studdard of America Idol Fame, and more recently the upcoming band St. Paul and the Broken Bones.  Why not attend an open mic night at The Bottle Tree Cafe on Wednesday, February 18 at 8pm.  Admission is free, and you just might see the next great act to come out of the Magic City before they hit it big.
