Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

National Park Service logoDiscover history.  Explore nature.  America’s Best Idea — the national parks — is even better when it’s free!  Since 1916, the National Park Service has been entrusted with the care of the nation’s national parks, monuments and historical sites.  Each year, you can get free entry to sites  across the country on select dates.  Click here to find a park near you.  In Alabama, there are nine sites including Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve and The Tuskegee Institute.

Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free* dates in 2015:

  • February 14-16
    Presidents Day weekend
  • April 18-19
    opening weekend of National Park Week
  • August 25
    National Park Service Birthday
  • September 26
    National Public Lands Day
  • November 11
    Veterans Day
