10 Totally Awesome, Must-Have Items for Every ‘Star Wars’ Fan

By Freebham editors, 7/15/15

Sci-fi fans are known to be some of the most fervent and loyal fans in the entertainment world.  Undoubtedly, the biggest of these are those of the Star Wars universe.  First hitting the big screen in 1977, it has spawned 6 movie releases to date, cartoon series, numerous books, comics series and toy lines that together have grossed billions of dollars in sales over the years.  In fact, Star Wars is so popular that Disney purchased Lucafilms a few years ago and is said to be redoing their Hollywood Studios theme park in Orlando, FL to have a major focus on it.

So what can you do to make your home part of the Star Wars universe?  We’ve taken a look at lots of different items out there and here are some of our favorites.

1. Star Wars 3D Deco Lights

The biggest baddie of Star Wars without a doubt has to be Darth Vader.  After all, George Lucas himself said that the movies released to date were really the story of the rise and fall of the Sith Lord.  You can shed some light on the dark side with this wall mounted LED light that includes a sticker to make it look like his mask is popping out of the wall.  Turn it on and you’ll get a menacing red light from its eyes.  If you’re more in to the light side (pun intended), you can also get the Yoda version.  You can get the Star Wars 3D Deco Lights here.

2. Chainmail Can Sleeve

Why settle for a run of the mill foam or rubber can koozie?  If you’re a Star Wars fan, you don’t have to.  Go (real) old school with this chainmail can sleeve made from anodized aluminum that will protect your drink from those cantina hooligans.  It features a rubber sleeve at the top to keep it from slipping down your bottles and cans.  Get your own Chainmail Can Sleeve here.

3. Japanese Stormtrooper Hawaiian Shirt

If you needed proof that the Japanese just do sci-fi and kitsch better than anyone else on the planet, here it is.  You can wear your Daakusaido (aka Dark Side) shirt not only to your next interplanetary luau, but also to the office as it comes in Empire approved grey and features Imperial logo buttons.  Requisition your own Stormtrooper Hawaiian Shirt here.

4. Han Solo Fridge

One of our favorites has to be the Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite Fridge.  What better to keep up to 18 cans of your favorite beverage frosty than our favorite ice-cube himself?  What’s even better is you can also use this fridge in heater mode (if you dare defrost Han) to keep those “bantha burgers” warm. Item is not recommended for use outside North America, however, due to converter issues.  Claim your bounty, er, Han Solo Fridge here.

5. Tatooine Sunset Maxi Dress

OK, ladies, they guys have their Stormtrooper Hawaiian Shirt, so here’s something just for you.  Relax on the barge with this beautiful red maxi dress made of 50% cotton/50% polyester.  The print on the front to the right of the slit features a land speeder and Tatooine’s two suns.  Luke probably got one for Leia for a Life Day gift before, well you know, he found out he was her brother.  Get your own awesome Tatooine Sunset Maxi Dress here.

Leia and Han towels

6. Leia and Han Towels

Why settle for boring old monogrammed bath towels in your abode?  Now you can show just how much you care with these Leia and Han bathroom hand towels.  These thirsty, white towels are 9″ by 7″ and feature a profile of Leia on one towel and Han on the other.  What better way to say “I love you” than “I know”.  Get your own Leia and Han Towels here.

7. R2-D2 Carry-On Luggage

This is the carry-on you’ve been looking for.  Approved by most major airlines as regulation size carry-on luggage, this portable hard-side droid is sure to protect your valuables.  It is 22″ x 8.5″ x 14″ and also has a telescoping handle and 360 degree rotating wheels.  Find your own R2-D2 Carry-On Luggage here, but be aware that it tends to disappear quickly.

Lightsaber chopsticks

8. Kotobukiya Anakin Lightsaber Chopsticks

It’s always a question when you go out for Oriental food if you use a fork or use chopsticks.  Well, the next time you crave sushi, use these blades to pick up your Mon Calamari,  Based on Anakin’s Episode III: Revenge of the Sith lightsaber, these chopsticks are 9″ long and translucent blue and come from Japanese manufacturer Kotobukiya.  If you’re feeling daring, pick up your own Anakin Lightsaber Chopsticks here.

9. Star Wars Eyewear

Improve your vision, and your style with Star Wars glasses.  Japanese manufacturer has officially licensed from Lucasfilm five different styles of eyeglass frames: Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, R-D2 and Stormtrooper. As an added bonus, the phrase “May the force be with you” is on the inside of the included case.  Show your own style, and pick your allegiance, with Star Wars Eyewear here.

Wookie jacket

10. Marc Ecko Chewbacca Reversible Wookie Jacket

A few years ago, Marc Ecko came out with several limited edition Star Wars jackets, including the X-Wing Pilot and the Chewbacca Wookie jacket.  Alas, these are no longer being manufactured and are difficult to find, but they do appear from time to time on eBay and other sites.  If you are lucky enough to find one, this reversible Wookie jacket features faux fur on one side, brown Alliance leather-look on the other and comes with a removable bandolier.  It’s perfect for those cold nights on Hoth or in Minnesota.  Try your luck finding your Chewbacca Wookie Coat here.

Bonus: Refridger Vader

Finally, if you think you’re a Star Wars fan and have some really cool stuff, you haven’t seen this.  A few years back artist Tom Sachs decided to take cool to an entirely new level when he built this custom, one of a kind Refridger Vader.  It not only holds a lot of beer, but also has a built-in vodka pump for icy-cold shots.  Want one, don’t you?
